Josh Howell: Educator. Parent. Doer.

Josh Howell is an educator, parent and longtime Norfolk resident who has taught thousands of students across the region. A graduate of Longwood University and Old Dominion University, Josh holds a PhD in Higher Education Administration and currently serves as the Coordinator of Accreditation and Compliance at Tidewater Community College. He also teaches graduate courses in higher education and serves on the board of the Virginia Zoo.

He's proud to call Norfolk home, where he's raising his son with his wife, Erica. Josh decided to run for School Board after seeing firsthand how decisions about school consolidation and redistricting affected students, educators, families and entire school communities.

Josh believes Norfolk Public Schools can be exemplary—but he knows we have real problems to solve before we get there. He's running to bring transparency, accountability and more than two decades of experience in education to the work ahead.
